What are the Cinque Terre?


Cinque Terre, which means Five Lands, comprise the five beautiful coastal villages of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.


Where are the Cinque Terre?


Cinque Terre are located in Liguria, a costal region of north-western Italy. The nearest big cities are La Spezia (about 20km/12miles), Genoa that is the capital of the Liguria region (about 88km/56miles) and Pisa in the Tuscany region (about 90km/55miles).

How to get to Cinque Terre?


The best way to get to Cinque Terre is by train or if you want to enjoy the beautiful views by boat. You can also reach it by car but you must pay the parking and in the high season like in the Summer is hard to find some place to park.

  • By Train

    The five villages are well connected by train, especially during the summer the trains stop in each village. You can get to the Cinque Terre from the most important Italian cities like Milan, Florence, Venice, Rome, Genoa, and Pisa.   • By Car

    There are differents ways to get to the Cinque Terre, especially depends on which village are you planning to travel and from which part of Italy are you coming.

    Whole Italy - Monterosso: take the exit highway named Carrodano/Levanto and from here you must follow roads directions to Monterosso.

    Whole Italy - Vernazza: take the exit highway Brugnato/Borghetto and from here follow the roads directions to Vernazza.

    Whole Italy - Manarola and Riomaggiore: you must go to the city of La Spezia and from here follow the road directions to the Strada Provinciale delle Cinque Terre.

    Northwestern Italy (Turin, Milan, Genoa) - Corniglia: take the exit highway Brugnato/Borghetto and from here follow the road directions to Corniglia.

    Northeast and Central Italy (Venice, Bolonia, Parma, Pisa, Florence, Rome) - Corniglia: you must go to the city of La Spezia and from here follow the road directions to Corniglia.
  • By Boat
